About Ben Eltham:
Ben Eltham is a Melbourne-based author, journalist, musician and creative producer. His book The Citizen's Cook-Book will be published by UNSW Press in 2009.

He writes regularly about Australian arts, culture and politics for publications including NewMatilda.com, Crikey.com.au, Artlink, Mess+Noise and The Courier-Mail.

From 2001-02 he was Assistant Manager of Newcastle's acclaimed media arts festival This Is Not Art.

In 2002 Ben founded the Straight Out of Brisbane festival, or "SOOB", which quickly became Queensland's largest festival of independent arts and culture.

Ben worked as Associate Producer for Melbourne Fringe in 2007 and founded contemporary theatre ensemble Elbow Room with Marcel Dorney.

Ben consults regularly in the field of contemporary arts and culture to corporations, universities and governments, including The Hornery Institute, Delfin Lend Lease, Red Bull, Griffith University and the Australia Council.

He is currently researching a PhD in Australian cultural policy at the University of Western Sydney's Centre for Cultural Research.

Ben travels from Melbourne.
